Olay Newspaper, which has been publishing in Turkish in the UK for 37 years, brought together different segments of the community under one roof through the “Turkish Diaspora Unity and Solidarity Gathering” it organised in London. Attended by diplomatic representatives, local administrators, non-governmental organisations, businesspeople, academics, members of the press and numerous readers, the event went beyond being merely an organisation hosted by a media outlet and became a meaningful platform bringing together the shared memory and vision for the future of the Turkish community in the UK.
The event, held on Friday, 31 July at 100 Green Lanes, Newington Green in London, was attended by Osman Koray Ertaş, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to London; Associate Professor Dr Hasan Ulusoy, Ambassador and Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in London; local politicians; Mustafa Demir, Deputy Chair of Müsiad UK; prominent representatives of the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot communities; and numerous guests.
